June 15th, More boat parking.

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

We at Kohls resort are always concerned with having your stay a safe and fun filled time away from home.    Last July we had purchased back two condos that are on the resort property. They had been sold by prior owners. This left us with the possibility that we might not have enough dock spaces, if everyone were to bring their own boats.  So about two weeks ago we had a new dock system installed.  This new system will hold ten extra boats, ensuring that everyone will have a spot.  Soon we will have pictures of the new dock on our web site  www.kohlsresort.com     Jim

June 1st, Best fishing trip ever.

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

At www.Kohlsresort.com we have posted a new rustic fishing trip.   Spring of this year we started bring guests on a primative type fishing trip.  Here is what my flier says:   Hello, I’d like to tell you about our special fishing trip:  Imagine a lake with no boats on it, except yours - and nothing as far as you can see, only pristine wilderness.

You will be taken to a two chain lake - connected by a shallow channel  our 20 minute drive, mostly on backwoods gravel roads, ends on a deeply rutted fire trail.  You get my 12ft boat, trolling motor and 2 batteries. We’ll also supply the landing nets, life vests, and stringer.  I will drop you off for a 4 hour fishing trip. This is the type of fishing trip you would have in Canada or the boundry waters. If you don’t like fishing for northern pike, stop reading.  The two lakes total 80 acres and have a maximum depth of almost 70 feet.  1/4 of the one lake is a designated eagle sanctuary.

This is an experience you and your fishing buddy will not forget.  I tell my friends all the time,” We are made up of our life experences”.   Your host   Jim
